  • It's important to know Gods heart. To discover His heart, there must be an intimate relationship with Him. The things of God will begin to overtake you and you will begin to know Him deeper and deeper as time goes on. The giving of your heart to Him will cause you to see and better understand His ways. NKJV Proverbs 23:26 "My son, give me your heart and let your eyes observe my ways"

  • It is important to understand Gods heart. Drumming consists of multi-rhythms that can be recognized as pulses in various frequency levels. The recognition of Gods heartbeat places us on the perfect frequency level. Once the perfect frequency is reached, producing a Heavenly sound becomes possible. This is what makes drumming in the Holy Spirit so effective. However, it starts with your intimate relationship with Christ.

  • Character speaks to the moral of a person. You are known by your character. Even if you are around negative people and you're "the good one", they can still have some effect on you. NKJV 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits".

  • You can be viewed as an arrogant musician just by the company you keep. You know what's right and wrong. Choose the right way. If you do wrong but have good intentions, it is still wrong. You choose. NLT Joshua 24:15 "But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD."

  • The thing that is within you will come out. This shares in the likeness of honesty. At times your flesh doesn't want to be honest, but you will show bad integrity if you're not. NKJV Proverbs 19:1 "Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one who is perverse in his lips and is a fool"

  • A great environment can be established around musicians who have great integrity. There is an openness of brother or sisterhood that is shared with the right spirit. This will help in the development of the Heavenly sound.

  • No one wants a worker that is unfaithful. Faithfulness lets your co-workers know that you are in for the long run. You can't be faithful to something if you have alternative agendas that have more value. Even as it pertains to riches. NKJV Proverbs 28:20 "A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished".

  • Be faithful to God who has given you the gift of drumming or musical senses. Then, be faithful to the leadership you are called to serve under. Complete your assignment. Never let it go unfinished.

  • Being skilled at what you do best or just in anything that you do is MAJOR! NKJV Psalm 33:3 "Sing to Him a new song, play skillfully with a shout of joy". Skill is not just the know "how" to do it, but the consistent practice and perfection of it. This has to do with continuing to challenging yourself. Once you get a specific skill mastered, you must work to find other ways to push yourself to be knowledgeable in other areas of your craft.

  • Being skillful in Spirit helps facilitate the flow of the heavenly sound with no distractions. Distractions can pull one out of the Spirit and cause them to miss their deliverance. Learning to submit to the Holy Spirit can help you to know what approach to take when. This is very important.

  • In Spirit there is Good and Evil. In our case, the enemy is the evil one. NKJV 2 Corinthians 10:4 "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds". There is a war going on in the Spirit. Whether you know it or not, musicians are in it! In this war he enemy wants our souls. We must fight in the Spirit through a sound that is governed by Heaven. This is the very thing that will cause Hell to break and flee! Being submitted to God is most important as far as warfare is concerned.

  • Drumming has a vibration effect that causes a sense of irritation to the enemy. If produced correctly by God's authority of rhythm, the enemy will have no place and will have to flee! Drums or rhythms of foot stomps are the first thing you hear before battle. The enemy can sense when we are near and becomes more afraid as the development of the sound draws closer. Be effective in your drumming through God our Lord Jesus Christ!

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. 1 Samuel 16:23 King James Version
